Helping you find your way.

Early adulthood can feel very uncertain as you figure out who you are and what you want to do - often with a great sense of pressure to figure it out quickly and perfectly.

I'm Rebecca, a psychotherapist and counsellor supporting people in their 20s and 30s who may be feeling lost, overwhelmed, and disconnected from themselves.

We work together, at a gentle pace, where you can feel heard and valued as you figure out:

  • Who are you, and what’s important to you?

  • Where do you want to go, and what do you want to do?

  • What kind of relationships do you want to have?

  • How can you create and live a life of meaning and purpose, that feels authentic to you?

My way of working with life direction in counselling takes into account your individuality and the lived experiences that matter to you.

Impact of Culture, Gender, Sexuality, Race and Disability
Who we are, and the difficulties we face, are directly and differently impacted by our unique experiences of life. This can include how you and your mental health have been impacted by societal expectations, conditions, and prejudices linked but not limited to gender, sexuality, race, culture and disability. Our work in therapy takes all of this into account, as well as any other aspects that you feel are meaningful to you.

Philosophical Approaches to Exploring Life Direction and Identity

Who are you, and what is your place in life? In counselling, we may make use of existential thinking to gently explore the big questions in life, without judgement or pressure. We might also look at metaphor and principles from feminist and spiritual thinking such as: Power-With (as opposed to Power-Over), Fluidity, Balance, Personal Empowerment, Interpersonal Connection, Letting Go and Embracing Change. These principles can help us come to terms with Suffering and Uncertainty and the impact they have on us and our mental health. Perhaps in therapy, you will discover some philosophies of your own.

Men's Mental Health
More and more men are accessing and getting help with their mental health through counselling and psychotherapy
(BACP, 2025). Therapy is a productive, focused and non-judgemental place where men can get support with: Work-Stress & Pressure; Life Direction; Depression / Low mood; Anxiety; Self-Improvement; Relationship Dating and Communication Difficulties; Relationship to Masculinity; Body Image; Self-Criticism & Self-Esteem; Shame; Loneliness, and Loss.

Some of the barriers preventing men from accessing talking therapy lie in harmful gender stereotypes, a lack of professional understanding about the unique challenges faced by men, and a lack of professional awareness of the differences in how different genders prefer to seek help and solve problems (Centre for Male Psychology, 2023).

I work a lot with young men using a more conversational approach, which celebrates masculinity and its positive effects on men’s mental health (Centre for Male Psychology, 2025). Our therapy is adapted to how you best like to work, allowing us to be with and move through difficult feelings and experiences at your own pace. We collaborate and work towards your chosen goals, working within a safe environment of non-judgement, understanding, and authenticity.
